A Journey – Memory Lane

Travel is not just a word for me, it’s a feeling which makes me super happy and excited. Travelling makes me something different from real me. It helps me to find out more about myself. I’m too much passionate about travelling even can’t sleep during the journey too, either it’s of 1 hour or 24 hours. To look through window it feels like I’m going somewhere no one can reach that's a different feeling to see life-like.Whatever past had gone, has gone. Don’t over think over mishap just remind yourself to remain happy.

Till now I had travelled to following cities: Mount Abu, Udaipur, Jaipur, Jammu & Kashmir, Shimla, Chandigarh, Kullu Manali and Dharamshala etc. Last we travelled to Shimla, Kullu Manali and Dharamshala in Summer Vacation. We started the journey with whole family almost with 25 members including children too. Isn’t it shocking for you? How 25 members adjust together in a single trip. This story we will save for another feature.

Let’s start with Shimla, our first destination to visit. We missed toy train due to insufficient petrol and here the adventure begins. Somehow we managed to reached hotel and talked to some locality people. Local People said that evening hours are the best hours to visit Mall Road. Indeed, it was so nice to see Mall road in evening. From there we can see whole Shimla. Twinkling lights are looking small. Such a mesmerizing view it seems like forever I can stand there and see those little lights playing among themselves. A good amount of rush over there. A big large road, one statue, small hotels and a church are the major attraction. All are busy in their photo session and shopping. The best thing of travelling to hill station is that there’s neither Air pollution nor noise pollution just pure air & soothing environment. You can actually hear your breath and heart beat at the same time.

Next morning we started our journey from Shimla to Manikaran Sahib, it’s almost 14 to 15 hour journey depends on traffic so we had to start early to reach earlier. So we had started almost at 9 am in morning and reached at 12 am. Nearly 17 hour journey! I  haven’t slept because each mountain was wonderful, different and welcoming me I couldn’t  take my eyes off them, they are calling me like Manali is only waiting for me. Peace within me rising as big mountains are passing though I’m quite and enjoying journey, observing little things.

Finally reached Manikaran Sahib it was too crowded. On the other hand peacefulness we feel in Gurudwara was on different level. Holy place always gives a positive vibes. Somehow your inner peace accelerates.
Manikaran is a pilgrimage center for Hindus and Sikhs. Food is cooked with the help of hot spring. Langar is served to visitors. It’s a belief that Guru Nanak sahib asked Bhai Mardana Ji to lift a stone, he execute and a hot spring appeared to cook food for Langar. It’s a beautiful Landscape.

Unfortunately we all missed langar and left Gurudwara. Stopped car at one of the Dhaba’s in search of food around 1:00 Am. Dhaba was in such an extremely delightful place. One side highway road plus mountains you can’t distinguish where mountains end and where sky starts its all black. We can only see small house lights on mountains looking like stars exceptionally blissful. Now this moment is so captive still I can feel those vibes when I recall that night.

Again we started our ride toward hotel but there were long queue. Another amazing moment created over there when some Turban man, opened the gates of car, started music and dancing on the road in the middle traffic jam. They are enjoying so much along with them people were also enjoying. All have forgotten the messy traffic situation. That’s how travel makes you distinct from others, motivates you to do something unique. Unknowingly they created a little moment for everyone. We don’t want to erase these kinds of memories. Likewise so much happened with us on that night.

Next morning we are ready to do river rafting, first ever thrilling experiment. We are dressed up in life jacket, paddle was given to everyone. Instructor was giving us instruction what to do what not. The river was too cold and long. Waves are too high, Feeling afraid and excited at the same time. Finally we did it bang on. It's feels like all river water is coming to take you and saying flow with us, run with us. We are here to set you free. Going through Long River with small and big waves was wonderful experience. Raft was floating like we will defiantly fall down from it. Instructor motivating us to enjoy ride because it is one time show in life. One more bucket list wish came true. These kinds of sports make us ready to take risk and teach us value of our own life that’s how travelling affects our lives at such an extent.

At last I just want to convey with these random memories that we should take a break from our usual life to do some unusual stuff. Seeing nature through your eyes is something unique from ordinary. It gives you inner happiness that you can’t find in metro cities. We go through long journey in train, car and flights. With all tiredness and finally reach destination that can mesmerize you on wholly different level that you forget all difficulties you had faced during journey.

Travelling gives us a broader perspective to be alive, adventurous and simply make us happy too So start travelling. Find different you within yourself.
